Akron to hire 40 police officers, 38 firefighters

Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic said Wednesday that he hopes to add more than 75 police and firefighters to the city’s ranks in the next year. And special attention will be paid to minority hires in order to have the safety forces better “reflect” city demographics, the mayor said. Read more >>
